That was a wonderful question : had she seen William first, would he have caught her eye? A part of her wanted to say yes. William was kind, sweet, funny, and intelligent. He wasn’t like the other princes that expressed interest in her. Unlike the rest of them, she felt like she could be herself with him. She didn’t have to be that pathetic girl that changed herself to be with a man. 

However, even she had to admit that the reason she truly started paying attention to him was because he expressed interest in Amelia. 

❝I want him because he is kind.❞ Her voice was nothing more than a whisper as she looked down at her hands. She did not want to speak any louder for fear he might hear more than she wanted him to hear.

❝If I saw him first, I do believe he would have caught my eye. He has this presence Papa and I am drawn to him.❞
